Dear friends,
Right now, the whole world is focused on monitoring the corona virus that affects most people, some way or another. As for VBN, the planned fair METAV in Düsseldorf, Germany, has been postponed. Otherwise we are all fine and we are hoping that you are, as well.
On a more positive note, we have started collaborating with a very experienced German consultant. A new video has been launched and our CTO has been advising high school students from Uppsala Teknikcollege on how to improve their innovations for the Swedish high school championships.
METAV 2020, Düsseldorf, Germany

The 21st international exhibition for metalworking technologies was planned to take place in Düsseldorf on 10-13 March. Key exhibitors started cancelling their participation due to fear of the corona virus, which has also spread in the region of Nordrhein-Westfalen, where Düsseldorf is located. METAV is postponed and we are hoping that a new date for the fair can be set soon.
VBN Components collaborates with German consultant

To reinforce presence in Germany and neighbouring countries, VBN has started collaborating with German consultant Dr.-Eng. Friedrich Momper. Dr. Momper has had a long career of managing European sales of cutting tools and gear cutting tools. In previous positions he has worked in R&D, product management and manufacturing. During his career he successfully implemented many projects involving launching new products and expanding sales networks. In his new role he will support VBN Components to expand sales in Germany and other European countries. We are very glad to have started this collaboration with such an experienced and well-known profile in the German tool business. To get in touch with him, please send an email to: fred.momper@vbncomponents.com
New video about fast toolmaking

If you are still wondering about the benefits of 3D printing, compared to traditional manufacturing, take a look at our new video The fast toolmaking process – from 1 to 10,000 units on YouTube. If you quickly want to develop hard and wear-resistant tools, using VBN’s Vibenite® materials is a great, timesaving choice! We are hoping that this new video will be as popular as World’s hardest steel which has almost reached 10,000 views…
CTO Ulrik Beste gives advice to young entrepreneurs

At VBN Components we like to stay connected to students and encourage their learning and entrepreneurship. Recently, CTO Ulrik Beste visited the high school Fyrisskolan in Uppsala as a member of the jury of Swedish Innovation Championship Blixtlåset. Competing students could benefit from Dr. Beste’s advice on entrepreneurship and technology and prepare for the regional competition. Their products touched different areas such as medical care, electricity security and the charging of mobile phones.
Until next time,
Team VBN
